HOW TO USE THE METAVERSE TO HOST EFFECTIVE MEETINGS & EVENTS
METAVERSE IN THE WORKSPACE
BRIEF
With a new generation of tech-savvy users soon entering the market, industries that embrace the Metaverse will increase their investment in this cutting-edge technology. There’s no better time than now to explore the potential of the Metaverse!
Keeping this in mind, our client, a pension provider in the Netherlands decided to embark on a small Metaverse project to explore its potential. Due to their limited expertise in this area, they turned to Mediaan Conclusion for assistance. As remote work becomes increasingly common, interacting with others virtually has become second nature. Isn’t it cool to meet in 3D digital workspaces created specifically for intentionally designed immersive experiences?
Our primary focus was to help our client gain insight into how the Metaverse could transform the way they host meetings and events. Through our advisory plan, we recommended strategies for using the Metaverse, including which platforms to consider, how to use them effectively and which trends to keep an eye out for. Finally, we assisted them in implementing these strategies and ensuring a correct setup of the Metaverse.
THE CONCEPT
The primary goal of this project is not to build the fundamental layers of the Metaverse. Rather, the emphasis is on gaining experience with real-time 3D technology and understanding how people use the Metaverse. Our client’s focus is to explore the possibilities by hosting meetings and events in the Metaverse.
THE CHALLENGE
To achieve their main objective, we aim to recommend the most cost-effective platform that meets all of our client’s requirements and criteria. This includes accessibility on both desktop and virtual reality devices, allowing users to join via browser, smartphone or VR headset. The platform should enable users to interact with one another and be customizable with the branding of our client. Most importantly, it should facilitate easy hosting of meetings and events, with streaming capabilities, without the need for extra setup work.
RESULTS
After carefully considering the requirements and criteria, we conducted thorough research and created an advisory plan. This plan will help our client better understand the Metaverse before making any additional investments. Our plan includes advice on:
- Which platforms should they consider and which best suits their needs
- Possible designs they might want to opt for
- How to properly use the platform
- Which skillsets and people do they need if they want to proceed with further development
- How to proceed further and which trends to watch out for
During the development of this plan, we also considered factors such as privacy, identity, sovereignty and decentralization as important considerations for the future. After helping them gain an in-depth understanding of the Metaverse’s potential, we also assisted them in implementing the strategies and ensuring a correct setup of the Metaverse.
