The Climate Agreement states that the Netherlands must emit 49% less CO2 by 2030. Clean transport helps to achieve those goals. For example, all new passenger cars coming onto the market in 2030 must be 100% electric.
And electric cars need to be charged. Our Heerlen office is equipped with several chargers at the disposal of our employees. Our challenge is to coordinate the “supply and demand”, which raised several questions:
Who can charge when, for how long, and with what type of charger?
How can we prioritize cars that are almost out of battery?
How can we make sure that chargers are not occupied longer than necessary?
Your assignment is to provide answers to these questions by building an application that allows us to manage the use of our electric car chargers. Think about having a dashboard with an overview of ongoing charge sessions with information on who’s charging. Maybe with estimated times to reach a certain state of charge, which means that you need to be able to read this from the cars, through the chargers. This requires some level of analysis to research the communication channels with the chargers.
