Our annual Mediaan Conclusion Sommerkonferenz took place this year on June 16th at the Van der Valk Airporthotel in Düsseldorf. We are proud to say that the event was a great success, with over 300 attendees, including both existing and new relations. The conference focused on the fascinating theme of “Future Mindset”. Our keynote speakers emphasized the crucial skills, tools, and mindsets needed for individuals to flourish in the coming decades, highlighting the significant role of digitalization. In the evening, we enjoyed a delightful reunion with refreshing drinks, delicious food and dancing!

Welcome

Before the conference began, we welcomed our guests with delicious refreshments and drinks so they could relax for a while. Then we invited the participants to our spacious plenary hall, where more than 300 guests had gathered. The conference started with a warm welcome by our Managing Director Marcus Vengels and moderator Prof. Dr. Jens Böcker, followed by a short recap of last year’s conference and some future insights by our Managing Director Sebastian Winkler.

Keynote sessions

As usual, our keynote sessions were moderated by Prof. Dr. Jens Böcker, who skillfully guided the conference and facilitated interaction between the audience and the speakers.

The first keynote session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Anabel Ternès, a prominent figure in the fields of sustainability and digitization. With her extensive credentials as a multi-impact founder, author, board member of Bitkom AK New Work, and advisory board member of Plant for the Planet, she provided valuable insights into the necessary skills and mindset required to prepare for the future amidst the advancements in digitization.

The second keynote session was delivered by Godo Röben, former CEO of Rügenwalder Mühle. He shared the transformative journey of the company as they shifted their focus from being a meat-focused enterprise to becoming a provider of meat-free vegetarian alternatives.

Last but not least, Gudrun Scharler, Global Director Customer Experience at Canyon Bicycles GmbH, used the example of a bicycle manufacturer to offer us exciting insights into how digital transformation and sustainability are related in the context of mobility. Her presentation shed light on how these factors will shape our daily lives in the future.

Time to relax

The day ended with delicious food, cold drinks, good music and pleasant chats with our beloved network. A huge thanks to all of the participants for their interest and enthusiastic participation. We are already looking forward to meet everyone again next year!
